I doubt much at all to be honest, I'd guess the R may have 3 Bhp tops

None at all for the 749 range, but they're claiming about 3 or 4 bhp IIRC.

And the historical horse power quoted by the japs was in a different format to ducati which obviously boosted their figures.

The only true leveller is to put all bikes on the same machine at the same time ( literally) as air pressure, temp all affect the outcome. Even then some dyno companies can be a bit liberal with their figures...............

I do still believe the figures produced by jhp though!:P

Lily, i went from a 748r on to a 998s! There is no comparison whatsoever on the performance of the two.

The torque of the 998s is just so effortless, mind you watch the back wheel, has a habit of spinning and or spitting you off!!

Get one, youll be saying ah, this is how i always thought the 748 should of gone!!

You know what it's like, you've ridden it several times, and every time you've got that daft grin on your face!

It just pulls and pulls from 3-4K all the way to the limit

Errr No, can't afford to have a dyno in my garage at the moment.:P

Being slightly less cheeky Stockport Motorcycle Centre have a dyno, i've run my various heaps on it for comparison purposes, but the R hasn't been on yet.

Mind you the 998S is quoted as 1bhp more than the 996R depending which part of the Italian propoganda you believe.

well, webby's 996R was knocking out 126 (I think, may have been 128) last year - how does that compare to factory figure??
