i think you need to have your picture hosted on a website first before you can use it as a avatar

cant quite remember how i did mine, think i just followed the instructions in the control panel

Help with Avatars

Log on to the Message Board
Go to Control Panel
Click on Edit Profile
Scroll down to the "Avatar URL:" section (see screenshot)
Delete whatever is in the upper box (e.g. "avatars/Loz.jpg)
Enter the URL of suitable picture in the upper box or click on the Browse button
If you Browsed, select the file that you will use for your avatar (remember, it cannot be bigger than 155 x 155 pixels)
Click on the Edit Profile button
Sorted.

You need to have a small picture saved on your computer (or know the URL of one on the web). The picture has to be small (155x155 pixels or less, maybe 6Kb or less in filesize). If you have a pic you like and cannot resize it, email someone on the board and ask them to do it for you!

I'd use Paint Shop Pro to shrink the size. Do you have PSP or similar Image editing software?

Hello

Road Runner.

When you size the picture I maybe wrong but there is a max size the Avatar must be. If you are on MSN messenger send in over and I will have a look for you.

regards
