Cheap Arai\'s....

Anyone know where I can get a new RX7... mines a few years old now, looked on Ebay and there's one or two new ones, usually not my size, but one guy is doing black or grey for £379 plus P&P which seems pretty good.

Thought I'd ask here to see if anyone knows of anywhere else on-line or otherwise cheers.

Might be worth giving Neil Spalding at Sigma a call, he is off to the Belfast Bike Show on Friday and there may well be some deals there, especially as he'll be spending all day talking to the dealers about his clutches ............

There were loads of deals at the Ally Pally so I'm sure the Belfast show will be no different .......

can't you get one from the States when you're snow boarding?

I get a lot of my stuff from Andorra when i'm down there and the prices are well cheap. Only problem is import duty if its done mail order as Andorra ain't in the EU.

May be worth having a look at Moto Card website (big bike shop in Andorra) just to check out prices. Defo cheaper than ebay price you've seen. I'll check if any friends are coming back from there in the near future as they could bring one home.

BDG...

I bought my last RX7 in the US, from Ducati Manhattan amazingly, and it was only about £30 cheaper than UK prices, and no ACU gold sticker, fortunately I knew an Arai rep back then and he sorted one out.

The ACU stickers are often sold on ebay.

I got my last RX7 in Portadown, Northern Ireland from a place called Wheelies. It was a European version from Southern Ireland. Exact same spec / size etc just missing our gold sticker.
I sent Phoenix an email and for a tenner including return postage they had it back, checked it and added the stickers.
Top service.

At the time the price I paid was about £150 less than over here, flogged it a year later on ebay for what I paid for it, result. Gone back to Shoei fits me head better.

The USA is no cheaper for Arai or Shoei. I know, I have tried. Australia is significantly cheaper. i bought an RX7 for 249 GBP and a Quantum for about 180 GBP. Obviously they don't have the ACU gold stickers ... but then that is a UK thing isn't it.

The RX7 got written off in a crash , and the insurance paid for a brand new "kosher" one.

PS .. it was the same fitment, quality and finish as a Euro on, so don't believe the carp spouted by Arai et al.

All you have to do is go to Oz !
