The postings referred to by Rally and basically the same article pasted all over the net (on different sites) warning people of this particular scam. Other websites that are linked to the same scam are akron-bike.com and scorpionbikes.com.
All these domains are registered through Easyspace - presumably because it's cheap! There's no verification when purchasing .com domain names that you are who you claim to be - anyone can buy a domain name and providing you link it to an active email address, the postal address/name becomes virtually redundant. Hence it's easy to put another persons name against a web domain.
Rather than continuing with this 'witch-hunt' against an individual, perhaps we should be content with reporting the ebay entries to the relevant authorities and continue to be vigilent against similar scams. This forum is not the only place that Dehinday has posted the same refute. If Dehinday is real and has been the victim of identity theft, he is the best person to address it.  |
