BT!!!!!

Of all the other things to worry about when you move a business into new premises, i am being screwed by BT!!

It took 4 weeks just to get a line in after sending engineers to phantom addresses, connecting me to the wrong exchange etc...
now on top of that, my business broadband wont connect after 10 days of attempting!!

Every time i call, i speak to a different 'untrained monkey' and have received absolutely no help whatsoever!! (is it plugged in sir? and have you installed the software? is all i am ever asked!!!)

On top of that, decided to cut my losses and move to a more reliable source and now im being told they cant connect me because BT have an adsl hold on that line!!

Can't you keep BT as your line provider and then use another company for calls / Broadband etc.

We made the switch this way for our home phone and it all seems to work well with smaller bills.

Absolutley you can jobr but once you've told BT you want them to be your provider then no-one else can do it for that number until BT release it.

revdecal, you need to cancel your order with BT for them to release it, it will still take a few days (read 3 months) for that to happen and then you can get a new provider to deliver the service, through the BT line, and BT switch ....

It may or may not help you but I use cable and this is one of the reasons why, also contention ratio's are generally better on cable than ADSL. If you're in industrial premises this won't help you at all but if you're on a high street or something then you may be able to get a business package with Telewest or NTL cable or similar - might be worth a look. I've never checked to see if they do business packages.

hopefully, the new broadband provider are going to sort all this out for us, so i dont have to call BT anymore.
Because of all the mistakes made just trying to get a tel line, i have free line rental for a yr anyway so im keen to keep them for the standard line for obvious reasons.

frustrating as we are affectively wasting rent/rates being paid as i have to sit at home to respond to emails. I hate call centres!!
had some guy on friday, and his english was so bad i had to cut him off because i could'nt understand a word.
