I've ridden the TL1000S and owned a VTR. The TL was quicker, as in more horsepower, steered pretty quick but the front end was light and didn't give me much feedback, like they hadn't got the balance of the bike right (it was the first released model I rode). Some said fitting a damper would sort it out but I ended up buying a VTR - a very under-rated bike! The VTR felt planted by comparison.

The VTR has a crap fuel range (worse than my 996) and less horsepower than the TL but if you're buying Japanese (oh dear - get the 916!!) then you may as well plump for the Honda - very reliable. And they sound pretty good with a nice set of cans.

But, get the bloody Ducati and be done with it! you know you want to!
