killed a teenager then drove off. He was caught and ended up with a two month sentence, had he had a licence and been prosecuted for death by dangerous driving he could have received a maximum sentence of 14yrs………what a justice system we have in this country.
Agreed, however that is supposing that there was evidence of dangerous driving in the first instance.
( There is no requirement for a person prosecuted for Death by dangerous driving to be the holder of a valid driving licence. )
If that cannot be shown, then the most you will be able to go for is due care / fail to stop & associated document offences.
There is a promise of a new offence of causing death by careless driving in the new Parliament however that offence is not on the statutes yet.
