My Granny, who was very old school ( born 1908 ) and very prim and proper, always said that swearing showed a distinct lack of vocabulary.. i.e.. If you had to add a swear word to a sentence, it was because you could not find an appropriate alternative.

Now I am far from perfect and have used gutteral language as well as the next person, but since having a little person around me who repeats EVERYTHING you say ( including calling that idiot who opened his door on me an 'R Sole' at the topof his voice ) I soon realised that swearing is not needed in conversation to get a point across !!!

I still have the odd verbal slip, but I will quite happily put my hand up and admit that the censorship of the swear words on this board does not bother me !
