Ah, someone else who doesn't find them uncomfortable, then.

Feel fine on my 748 except in heavy traffic; on the open road I'm fine.

620 miles in a day my record so far.

Have you got the ride height jacked up, jen?

Yes I have, right up. I don't suppose that helps!
To be fair, it wasn't as bad as I expected. I usually start getting uncomfortable around 100 miles, but it didn't really get any worse than that until right at the end.
Bearing in mind that I have only had it back on the road two weeks and that was only my third ride, it could have been worse!
Velocity has a lot to do with it though. i was with the group on the motorway, dual carrigeway etc doing 80-95 mph and I was fine, but when we hit the A429 and traffic they all slowed right down and I started to get hysterically painful wrists!
I'm afraid I had to leave them and use fully fledged traffic knife characteristics and get some speed on! Plus as well, I think when you're going faster it kind of takes your mind off the discomfort

Are you all for real????? This is not meant to sound like the old monty python sketch I am genuinely amazed to hear this (especially from military people). I rode from Calais to Cannes with a night stop of about 7 hours. Got caught in the ****ing rain with rennsport tyres and no waterproofs just past Orange as I was unprepared for the long ride as I was meant to put the bike on the traiin in Paris but due to chaos on the M20 got over to France far too late to make the train arrived in Cannes and rode the twisty "route de napoleone" to Castellane and back the following day once the sun came out?????????

Now thats a road worth riding, and in 4 weeks time i may just do that.

8 days, 2 996's and 2000 miles, its time for the 'Alternative Tour de France (and Spain)' again, yippee

Am i looking forward to it?

most ive done was 620 miles on a rvf400 from cornwall to doningotn for the 2003 motogp and i was on my own, ached like heck the next day. went up via the cotswolds and the old leicester fosse road and came home m42,m5 straight home and into bed

furthest on the 748 was the 280 ride home in the rain from abingdon the day i bought it, first time it had seen rain in over 2 years hey harv ? he nearly didnt sell it to me as he ddint want her getting wet.

so far i dont find her too uncomfortable but will report back after my little trip to le mans in 5 weeks

Good for you sounds like you should have an awesome time and there are just too many good roads down there to even begin to name them all.The route de Napoleone is the favorite of the twisty roads I know as there are not too many cars and it is mostly 3rd gear with some fast double apex corners as well as the usual moutain twisties and also a bit of a straight where you can getup to about 120+

All the best
Mike
