Had this prob initially on my 03 999S. On taking delivery of my 05 999S, it seems to be rearing its head again. Every time I stop at a set of lights the bike cuts out. Or perhaps more embarrassingly (and dangerous) at a junction or entry to a roundabout. Its not just a case of too low a tickover, just cuts out period. Any body else had this problem. Had the 998 throttle mod done by my dealer prior to taking delivery. Dont think its that per say. Mind you there is an rpm increase on full left lock which would suggest a cable is poorly adjusted or too short. Anyhow getting that sorted at the fast approaching first service. Ideas any one? Also is there anyone out there who knows of a good non corrosive brake or wheel cleaner. Not for me but my other half's bike. Heard that Muc Off is good, basically need an agent to remove chain lube and general cr*p from the area.

I think you may have answered your own question. The bike should'nt stall or cut out if it is correctly set up.
Keefy, thanks for that?! Not sure its the cable in reality as it stalls regardless of which way the steering is pointing at the time. It ticks over at a sensible rpm but its just not playing ball when it comes to a standstill from speed. Any one else care to throw their two bobs worth in?
Sounds like how my 749S. You need a full set up - cam timing, CO2 mix and idle. That's what cured mine. You'll need to leave the bike at the dealer though as mine was worse when stone cold. They set it up, left the bike overnight, fired it up then took it for a test ride. It needed the tickover increasing again before it was then given back to me.
In fairness mine seems to have been corrected at first service, dealer was well aware of it being an issue - sounded like its more common than not actually.
