Ventura Lugage rack - 999 Mono

After waitng nearly 3 weeks I finally received my Ventura rack system for my 999 Mono. Into the garage, out with the allen keys sockets and off with the sub-frame bolts. Now to fit the ventura L- Brackets and what do I find. THE BOLTS ARE TOO BL&&DY SHORT!!!!

What's that about then? They could do with being about half an inch longer. Anybody else had the same problem? Looks like it's a trip to the Nut/Bolt shop for some longer replacements. Ventura very kindly included a customer survey form with pre-paid envelope to cover postage to New Zealand in the kit. Some choice words will have to be added!!

I found on my 748 and 749. That the L brackets take a bit of fiddling around. Mainly to stop the brackets rubbing against the paintwork.
But once fitted correctly, it's a great bit of kit.
I'm just about to order my brackets. For my 999s mono i hope get the correct size bolts.

Clint.

I can just get the threads started on the top bolt but the bottom one there is no chance. The kit comes with nylock nuts and there is no way the nylon will do it's trick. And yes it is very close to the bodywork where the packrack joins. Looks like some foam pipe lagging may be required.

I think that Logyk had exactly the same problem with his 999R...Nelly sorted some replacements out for him.
A bit of a faux pas methinks by Ventura?

Yep....I can confirm that the problem is endemic......AdamT had the same problem with his 749S.

They maybe don't do long bolts in New Zealand!!!!!!!

Well, thanks to the local nut and bolt company I am now up and running and only a little out of pocket. If anyone is buying a system for their mono make sure you have some 50mm M8 allen head bolts. Cost 33 pence each and available in black to match those supplied with the kit.

Just have to wait till noon on Wednesday then Le Mans here we come!!!!
