| The sportec M1 is the same compound and construction as a Diablo. Its also made in the same factory. The only real difference is the tread pattern on the front tyre. The sportec has larger tread blocks on the centre line of the front tyre. This seems to lead to problems with the tread tearing itself in the blocks of tread. I spoke to CPK the Pirelli Metezeller importers about this and they denied that there was a problem. Its happened to me and I have seen it on many large bikes using this tyre. I was at intermot last September and I saw at the Metezeller stand only sportec rear tyres on display so I think that they must be working on a solution. In light of my experience I would stick to Diablo's.   |
