I manage a small software company and our merchant accepts online credit card payments for our software, even with all the checks in place to help prevent fraud we recieve a great deal of fraudulent purchases that are charged back upto 6 months after the initial purchase for "card holder not present" this generaly means a card number has been used without the owners knowlage. While this is a pain in the ass for us as we have to pay around 10 dollars in charges for the funds to be returned to the card holders account, i often find myself wondering how many people actualy check their credit card statements for small amounts that have been deducted, over a year or so these can add up and not be so easy to pick up on.
