Can a Bip seat be easily fitted to a 749R/999R? - Page 4

I cannot see a problem with the wheels ( or the shock ), is it not just the manufactures/Ducati covering their backs just in case of failure.
If someone is 19 stone ( ! ) riding solo what is the difference if the rider is 11 stone and the pillion 8 stone ?

I am sort of tempted to put a biposto seat unit on my R beacause my wife is 'considering' going back on the bike again ( she said she would never go back on when we had our two young kids, just in case )

The wheels on 749R's and 999R's are identical and are NOT suitable for carrying a pillion , this was stated by Ducati UK in an MCN roadtest

Yea but, no but - they also state that Magnesium wheels shouldn't be used for the road, but you can!!

Isn't this just some potential legal disclaimer against any sort of legal action should you get a couple of elephants going Biposto ?

from the manual with the forged wheels

max total weight 390 kg
dry weight 193 kg
fluids 10 kg
fuel 20 kg
extra for bip 10 kg

this leaves 157 kg
which is about 24.5 stone, so if you and your other half are less than that you should be fine. however i am not an engineer
