No reason why you can't buy Termi's less ECU, either the 2-2 or 2-1-2 system and either new or second hand.

Remember that a previously fitted ECU (ie second hand)won't work on any bike other than that which it was fitted to first.

The ECU's fitted to the 749/999 range don't have chips like the older models. You have to re-programme the whole ECU and Ducati have very kindly encripted the system such that it is nigh on impossible to do - unless you want to fork out large on a Corse item. Thats why PC3 is the most cost effective way to go.
