I had similar problems with Carol Nash when I got my ST4S 4 years ago-they kept insisting it was an ST4.
When I tried to add my 1952 Gilera saturno to the policy they told me there was no such bike-when I insisted there was they asked me to forward all the details, specifications etc that I had so they could quote it. I am now insured with AXA through Footman James who not only had heard of the Saturno but quoted me less for the extra bike added with my other 2 than Carol Nash wanted for just the first 2. Funnily enough I have stayed with them. If your bike is 15 years old or older it's classed as a classic and they are VERY competitive.
