Mot time

It's MOT time of year again for me, first time with the Termi's on.

Now I know this has been discussed several times in the recent past, but what is the latest on this?

Anyone recommend somewhere in the Northampton area that won't be bothered by 50mm Termi's?

Thanks
Martin

As long as they are not stamped "Not for road use" or "Race track only" its down to the discression of the inspector. You will be fine

I'm off to Churchill Motorcycles on the A5 this afternoon to get my Superlight mot'd. It has got open cans on it so I'll let you know how I get on (if it's close enough to you to be useful).

Last year they passed both the Superlight and my SPS (with 50mm Termi's) but I didn't take them down myself, a dealer took them for me.... Be interesting to see if it makes any difference...

I've never had any probs with race cans - the FE with silmoto cans was actually noise tested louder than the black beast with its full 50mm race system with termis.
My harris doesnt have a silencer at all as such - and certainly sounds louder than any of my other ducs - and that passes too.
But then I'm always polite and friendly to the man

Beware that the MOT system is changing, no more free re-tests etc.

Moores Motorcycles, Apsley, he's a good geezer if you don't mind nipping down to J8 of the M1. Actually, I was chatting to him when I took mine for its MOT yesterday. He was running a Yamaha at the KRC endurance race at Snetterton. The bike blew up, unfortunately. I got away with no front brake light when I explained that I'd disconnected it for the TA 4.5 at Snet and the reconnection was a bit dodgy because I didn't have any electrical tape to hold it together. Usual story, just smiled and looked helpless and got my certificate. This helpless femal stuff works a treat!

Doesn't work for everyone though.
