Didn't one of the mags (or MCN) do a comparison of Wavy vs non wavy discs a while back with the result being the wavy discs were'nt quite as good for stopping power, but they did help reduce weight (marginally)

IIRC Braking are the superior wavy disc though, closely followed by Galfer. Then all the other pretenders follow on.

I'd agree with TP though, try different pads first. They're a sight cheaper, and the standard brembo discs are quite good anyway.
