I assume giving the dvla a wrong address is an offence. But how much of an offence? What's the law have to say on the matter I wonder. It's not me that's gone-done something stupid, but without going into great depths here, I wondered if anyone had the gen on this matter. Thanks
i am not an expert, but i would think that it would also be a criminal offence, not just a driving offence. so you would get a criminal record for free
On a similar topic, what's worse - the penalty for doing 48mph in a 40 limit, or the penalty for not disclosing who was driving (the car) at the time ?
I was hoping for something major, although I doubt that a criminal record is that likely. A whopping fine of a £1K maybe? Not sure - that's why I asked here.

It's gonna get you a criminal prosecution, it's fraudulent and perjury. Depending on what you trying to avoid, if caught they could even sling your ass in clink!
However, it is not illegal to give them an address in the States as long as you can be traced there.....
