Do most of my own servicing so that cuts down on a lot. Most importantly, it's my hobby, the one thing that I can rely on to bring a smile to my face when things get you down, which makes it a bit of a bargain really. I could have a gambling/coke/booze problem and be blitzing 5x the money on nothing. The money I spend on the bikes may not be an investment, but you've got to spend your hard-earned on something, and I could never get the same feeling from a UJM.
