At the tender age of 17 I proudly wheeled an aged (1971) Honda CB250 into my back garden. My mate let me have it for a month or so to get used to it and subsequently buying it.

My Dad took one look at it and said -

If your getting that you'll never have any money!!

Not long after that he said -

Another thing lad ... if your thinking of getting a girlfriend get a rich one ... or they'll bankrupt you

When I got my first car (a Mini Cooper circa 1967) he said -

Cars eh! You'll always be broke now you've got that

My love affair with Ducatis started in 1998 and my Dad died in 2003 - not of shock - just old age sadly.

If he was still alive today I know what he would say -

..... ditto ..... ditto .....

And he's right to a degree. He'd probably condemn me to the nut house. Thank goodness I've an understanding wife
