Time to sell...

Not sure if this is the best section of the board to ask this question, but anyways..

It's time to sell my duke & I was wondering what it's currently worth.
1998 (s reg) 748 in yellow with Chris Clarke supplied carbon 50mm pipes & chip plus std cans/chip
genuine single seat with white number boards
yellow mirrors
clear indicators & rear light + originals
Just under 6,000 miles from new
Meta 357T alarm/immobiizer
I am the 2nd owner.
IMO absolutely mint condition

Only problem is- has only ever had the 600 mile service stamp. I've done it since then (oil, filter, belts etc etc ). It needs the 6K service now, either at the $tealers or an independant.

Whats the current going rate for a bike this age/mileage/condition?

The service history will be an issue, no doubt.
I've had a few ads in the unit for really clean examples, of different models, that in my opinion were "spot on". Excellent condition and with full history. Still didn't fetch "good money" or still haven't sold.
The market seems to be a bit quiet at the moment?????

I'd say about £4k......maybe £4.5K if you were to find the right buyer on the right day. The lack of history could knock it below £4K though, quite easily.............

I'm sure someone will be along with the book price for it in a moment...but rest assured it will be lower than you think!

It seems lots of 748/916/996 etc are on the market at the moment, and not a lot of them selling.

Not a good time to sell I'm afraid.

As for the service history...I wouldn't touch it...not because I don't trust your work, but there will be other 748's out there with hundreds of receipts and serivce records. My suggestion would be to bite the bullet and get it done somewhere reputable (AJ,Nelly,Pro twins etc) otherwise you are only going to have someone haggle the price of this service off you anyway?
