I was riding mine last night after leaving Brands heading down into Kent. What a machine, so much better in all departments than my 996, which is still a great bike that I have no complaints with but the 998R is sublime. The 998R is actually 999cc. It is the same bore and stroke as the current 999R engine. Sandcast crankcases and deep sump as BDG mentions above. You can't go wrong with one of these. Oh yeah, price-wise depends on condition but you'll be looking at 10,500 through to 13,000 but it's a buyers market at the moment. You sure you don't want a 996?  [Edited on 5-8-2005 by TP] | |
