Charlotte, thanks to you and Alan, very kind. I most likely need a responsible adult around when it comes to bleeding the front brake - as I am bleeding useless at that.

All in all, I am pretty close to being able to put the bike back on the road in time for Brands on the 10th but there are a couple of show-stoppers - notably the fairing/mirror mounting, the mirror, the rear indicator, rear brake lever peg, front brake reservoir cover and probably most importantly, the time, tools and expertise to fudge the bits I can get away with.

Questions:
1. Do I really need to take out the front wheel to remove/fit the front mudguard on a 999? Looks like it to me.
2. Is it possible or desirable to patch a small hole in your leathers?
3. Remind me, why is it I like motorbikes?
