just take your time with the side stand and you will be fine.
I would also suggest getting your hands on a paddock stand for when the old girl is parked up for her winter rest.

i heard horror stories about the sidestand reliability thing, but never actually found anyone who suffered from it (or their bike)

'just a bit of scaremongering from boys in the land of the rising sun, i expect.

been down to hythe marina once or twice, very nice.
