Good thing about claiming your riding kit on the house insurance is that most policies are old for new and many house hold insurance companies will go off what ever quote you send in as they know little about leathers, boots etc. As long as the dealer or shop doing the quote says that the kit is like for like the insurance company will go with it.

I know a guy who had an "off". Claimed on the house insurance for his riding kit and ended up with brand new Dainese leathers, gloves, boots and a good helmet. His old kit was not a branded name and was quite old. Cost him £50 excess and about £35 extra on his policy the year after.

I think that is a result.

Sure someone will come along soon and say that it's people like my mate that put's everyones insurance up Blah Blah Blah ... still think it's a good result :P
