Not quite sure if they do ALL the checks, but I was assured it was more than an oil change.

At one time the first service was free apart from the materials - oil & filter. The dealer was reimbursed by the manufacturer, looks like most of them charge the customer for it now.

I met a guy at Italia yseterday who had traded a 620 Monnie for a 620 Multi. He was just in for the 600 mile service, having had it 6 weeks. He said he was enjoying it, but I reckon I would be frustrated having the service booked 6 weeks ahead and taking that long in the summer to get the miles in.

THat's what I thought. Mind you, I have a mate who stores a 916 in his garage - I won't say "rides a 916" because that rarely happens. He claims he doesn't get chance because of work (he does work very long hours) but I would have been off out for a half hour after work on the long light summer evenings. That would make the graft all worthwhile.

Mood: I own a flame thrower
As said by others, service costs for the 600 and 1 year service vary because some dealers threw the service in with the sale of tbe bike. Rather than do a deal on the price of the bike the dealer would do the services for the cost of parts only.

Personally, I go to Italia and have done for years. Small annual service is around £220 and the large 2 year service with belts, clutch and brake fluid swap, coolant etc etc was £328 (ish). I'm happy with these prices as I feel they are competitive and I rate the work and guys at Italia.

I have mates with Jap bike who pay similar or even higher service costs so I feel that I'm paying about the right kind of money.
