I had some communication with eBay over an accidental additional purchase of an item where I was awarded a non-payment strike because I only bought the one. If that makes sense. Anyway, the seller was sympathetic and accepted that I accidentally "double clicked", but was unable to do anything about it. I contacted eBay and they cancelled the strike. They do respond, sometimes.

I only sold one bike on eBay and I put "uk buyers only - cash on collection only". I was not going to risk getting stung by cancelled cheques which can take several weeks to show up as dodgy, well after you were told by the bank the funds are in your account. They then just take the money back from you and you are the loser. The sale went fine, buyer turned up with a van and paid cash. I was a little nervous about it being all £50 notes mind you - but the bank accepted them (and put them in a bundle to one side!). I was half expecting a letter a week later saying I was being prosecuted for passing forged 50's.

The joy's and (potential) pitfalls of eBay!
