Just got an email today from BT about this little baby which is due for launch any week now. Would make life a lot easier rather than have a house and mobile seperate bill.

Prices TBC which will probably be the painfull bit. Anyone heard of this???

Handset looks naff but i suppose you can't have everything.

Fiorst time i've heard of it in about 3/4years,was meant to launched but problems with technology.From memory it's a home phone within 400m of your home then becomes a mobile further out.The only downfall could be price

ScottyB, this has been in the pipeline from BT for a while now, but like everything there's a commercial aspect to the products they offer and the mobile operators have been trying to scupper it.

It also highlights that it's early days for the service so may suffer from some teething problems (one of which is the limited number and types of handsets available).

Falls into the category of "convergence" system I think.

prices will be quite good but there will only be one phone at introduction it is fugly.

3 reasons to wait:
1) The first version works on bluetooth. The next generation (expected within a year) will use wifi.
2) More phones will come out with the next generation, including a version of the RAZR.
3) Mobile phone and broadband prices are going to drop radically (are you reading this Tony??!!) over the next two years.
