Hmm,you want to compare a Multi to an R1 or Speed Nipple!!??
Ridden in isolation the Multi is awesome, loads of bottom end grunt and superb handling.Ridden back to back against something more (ahem) sporty tho and you'll find its weeknesses. The bike does run out of puff at the top end.Exit a third gear corner on my 999,its pull is very strong up to 8,000 rpm and then goes bonkers up to 10,000 rpm.Rev limiter cuts in around 11,500rpm.
Now do the same corner on a standard Multi,...punch out of the corner is good from 7-8,000 rpm,...very similar to the 999,in fact.8,000 rpm plus tho,and the power is fading,...rev limiter cuts in around 8,750 rpm.
So,performance bike it aint.
Multistrada-ing is all about surfing that big band of low down torque and grunt that fires you from A to B with very little effort.
