I used to spend a lot of time working in Lyon - well actually l'Isle d'Abeau just South East of Lyon and about 5 kilometres from Bourgoin Jallieu - so I used to drive there about once every two months.
I would have thought that it was obvious to anyone that a comment like that wasn't intended to be taken literally. Obviously, I didn't do 155 mph
ALL the way, I had to stop at the Peage, stop for fuel, slow down for slower moving traffic and slow down when I got to the peripherique.
Perhaps I should have said that I was in a hurry and wherever, and whenever, possible drove the whole journey with the accelerator mashed into the floor - it was a UK car with the speedo in mph and registered 155 flat out.
Somehow, it seemed easier to say all that the way I said it in my original message
