Ahh yes, Bracknell is just down the road a bit.

You're quite close to Lord Rattler. Are you looking for a flat in Bracknell or somewhere closer to London that you'd be happy to commute from?

Congratulations Rob. When do you start?

Do the Essex boys know you're ditching them?

Oh right.

I'd say the commute from my flat to Bracknell would take about 30 minutes in a car, but I'm really guessing. So that's in Twickenham and the other way is 20 minutes by fast train to waterloo. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive to Tim's place in off-peak traffic.

Depends what you're after and how much you want to spend really. Twickenham is more expensive than Bracknell I would imagine. You're looking around the £800 a month mark for a 1 bedroom flat and you'll be lucky to get a garage. Although I know of two that are nice, available now and have garages. They aren't really walking distance to the Twickenham train either. There are trains from Twickenham that call at Bracknell as well.

Bearing in mind that I've just been through this and I moved into a flat in Twickenham on Saturday morning.

Rob,

I rented in Bracknell for about 18 months. I stayed in a place called Forest Park, which is like a huge sprawling Brookside-esque estate. Quite a nice area, but small properties with garages are in a bit of a short supply. Most 2-bed houses have "courtyard" parking. There were one or two 1 or 2 bedroom flats with garages, but they were VERY sought after. There's quite a bouyant rental market, but it all seemed to be via a few big agencies.

I seem to remember looking at quite a few flats which were sort of a mews situation, with the flat over a garage, but they were all in areas that were a little bit dodgy for vandalism etc. The feedback I got when I was looking for somewhere to rent is that you have to be a bit careful which area you rent in...cheap price normally equates to **** area....maybe your new workplace will be able to advise as I can't remember too much in the way of specifics.

Ian

Ruth - I start on Monday 28th
Ian - I am looking at a couple of places on Forest park tomorrow
TP - I did not think that twickenham would be in my price range
CK - Woking is on the list, as is Guildford, but both might be too expensive

I come from Farnham and also lived in Camberley and have worked in Bracknell so I know the area, it is just finding places with garages that is a challenge. I would prefer a town center location, but they never seem to have garges, so I guess I will be on one of the many big estates that are all over the area.
