there must be oodles of comparos out there on digi cams. you should be able to find a range of similarly specced dcs analyzed by pros in any of a number of mags and sites. I do my buying here, so I read through a lot of japanese mags on the subject and the detail of the articles helps me narrow down my purchasing options.
Have had good luck with Olympus for years though. Good skin renditions for one thing.

Personally I prefer the Sonny range and have one of their compact 5 mega pixel jobs and also there top of the rang 8 mega pixel, which is awsome!

kind of like motorcycles. More cc's do not necessarily a better motorcycle make.

I use www.dpreview.com for advice, extensive reviews and forums for owners.

I never buy anything without asking there first!

Cheers!

In my opinion you have to go a long way to beat the Canon Ixus range for size looks d perfprmance ( now up to 7 megapixels).

I have the 4 megapixel version which gives excellent results for a mini digicamera so the latest versions wil be superb.

Yeti, if you want a small but decent one for your briefcase, I'd get the Minolta Dimage E500, 5 megapixels, 3x optical and 4x digital zoom, flash, 2" LCD screen. 79.99 at Costco. Beat that!

John,

The Fuji E900 is looking quite good at the mo.

Whopping 9 megapixel beastie

Do a google search for 'Fuji e900' and you get price comparison and review site in the first page.
