Yep, the 748 is a fantastic bike: Had mine third hand with only 3700miles on the clock, '98 bike bought in 2000. She now has almost 30k showing and is going strong. Only problems in the last 5 years are 1 rectifier & 1 expansion tank reservoir. Other than that, just regular servicing and always letting her tick over for a while before setting off: Not missed a beat on a number of trips to the south of France (where she now lives a life of luxury in a nice big barn!).
Must admit that whilst I adore the cornering performance/sensation, I am wondering what it would be like to have a little more power/torque (particularly on the more open 'nationals' down here): have therefore decided that I will treat my little beauty to an 853 upgrade when finances allow............ probably next winter.
