Great unexpected xmas pressie!

I have a mate who has his own company manafacturing gym equipment. Its really top quality heavy duty stuff. He has never advertised anywhere and yet he sells loads of the stuff all over the country by word of mouth. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I needed a really nice big work bench for my garage. He said if I drew it up for him he would make it for me next year sometime, I gave him a drawing on Wednesday night and forgot about it till he phoned me today to say pop down and pick your bench up! He has even sprayed it for me! I asked him what I owed him and he wouldnt take a penny not even for material! Said forget about its Xmas!

Hard to tell of the pic but its massive, just over 10ft wide and 38 inch tall by 30 inch deep. I just have to get some suitable boards for the tops. I'm well chuffed. Had a few nice pressies this year but I keep looking in the garage at this.

Cheers Tom.

I used to have a great bench but its lost under the crap !!

I have to share my garage with my wife and two children, its not fair I may just throw my teddy out of the pram !!

Great mate though to "knock" that up for nowt, maybe you can pick up a nice slightly damaged kitchen worktop from B & Q ?

No Ian, definitley no clutter from now on. I am in the middle of a massive clear out. Theres a store room in the back that you cant see and some of the things I have thrown out from there I cannot believe I have kept so long. 1980s car phones, 2 1970s telephone answering machines one of which took 2 people to lift into a skip it was so big and heavy. Loads of fruit machine parts that are no use to man or beast. I have a few Jaguar engines and gearboxes etc that I need to get on ebay. Feels good to get rid of so much stuff that takes up a lot of space. Garage looks pretty clean but its almost 10 years since the floor and walls were painted so thats a job for springtime. Going to make it into a proper nice spacious workshop with nice tool cabinets etc. Michael your right its a big garage those pics only show a 1/3 of the space. I told you I could get 30 bikes in!

A couple of pics showing the other 2/3rds (where the clutter remains)

The old MK2 Jaguar is not for sale! I have been restoring it since 1988! Hope to get it finished by retirement age (I'm only in my 30s!) Well 40 next year if I'm honest.
