Yep,and add to that,many hotels and B&B's have been pulled down and/or converted into luxury apartments for the rich and famous.
For homestays look here;
http://www.iomtt.com/idealbb/forum.a...ID=2&forumID=2 I think you will be struggling to keep all your mates together tho.If you can,stay in Douglas,...its where all the action is at night.Ramsey and Port Errin are lovely places,...but absolutely dead at night.If you do take accomodation out of town you'll find the taxi's can be quite expensive and you might need to book in advance.(We dont want to be drunk and riding now,...do we!)
Yep,Steam Racket is the only way to get there.Again,you need to be booking NOW!
As for viewing,there are some great places.The usual places are good,...The Gooseneck and Bungalow on the mountain,Bradden Bridge,Glen Helen,Crosby,Creg ny Ba,...to name a few.
Alternative viewing areas are;Parliament Sq.in the petrol station forecourt.You can see the bikes flick through the square then up the hill.Added benefits are a gap in the nearby pub wall for drink/food supplies and you can walk around the back streets,go over the bridge near the bus station and watch from the other side.
Keppel Gate is another good place.A series of fast bends just before the drop down to the Creg.Plenty of room here to mooch about for differant views.
Hillberry is an incredably fast section,the speed the bikes are doing here is breathtaking,..........I could go on,..........

Still a great place to go,despite the safety police,have fun.
