The Stig unveiled!

Express reckons the Stig is Julian Bailey, former F1 and Touring car driver who won the FIA World Sports Car championship.

They do not state how they know....

Did see Ben Collins do a stunt or 2 of top gear before. he drove an open top car and his mate parachuted in to it ... about 3rd attempt.

As a company we used to sponsor Ben in ASCAR ... I thought he was in the States driving NASCAR or similar.

It was....but he was exposed, or chose to expose himself in his biography as I understand it so they killed him off and got a new stig. The new (white) stig is Ben Collins.

Not gospel but check out wikipedia.
