Absolutely... it only takes a snapshot of the registry and system files, not user data.

Youy might be lucky (very) and it's created a temporary file while you were updating... check your temp folder(s) and maybe do a search for *.tmp and ~*.*

and add a date/time criteria for all files done today.

Restore WILL remove exe and dll's but not the data associated with the install - e.g. log files.

Hi All. I definately did suffer a B.I.K.E. All sorted now!!! Went to restore the file from the back up on the flash drive and all hell broke loose!! The flaming thing was corrupt!! Lessons learned today boys and girls are ALWAYS DO TWO BACK UPS AND DONT GOSSIP WHEN YOU ARE RESTORING INCASE YOU OVERWRITE THE WRONG ONE. Thanks to all for your help. Doogalman's missuz xx
