Brake caliper assembly

When re-assembling the caliper what do I use to moisten the seals where the pistons slide?

I have been told to use a spear of brake fluid on the rubber seal, is this correct?

Cheers
dave

Brake fluid is OK but be careful where you get it as it will do damage to plastic and painted surfaces.

You can alternatively use the special grease that comes in most cylinder repair kits, I prefer the latter to be honest. If you want some drop me a U2U and I'll arrange to send some out to you.

Hope they are industrial grade !!!

Joking aside you don't want too much brake fluid on your hands either, nasty old stuff altogether. Eats polycarbonate like it's going out of fashion !
