I dont know about washing the salt away but its washing more of the fields on to the roads around my place!!!

i'm sure a lot of people have noticed how slippery the roads are this winter, part of this is down to a new addictive being used with rock salt. Its sugar beet!! its stops the salt being washed away as easily when it rains! Nice syrupy solution to coat the roads in......
been discussed on pistonheads, more info there.

Noticed my diesel Passat has been spinning it's wheels up much easier this year-even on dry roads..........it's got 130bhp but hell my ST4S isn't much short of that, and only one tyre to put it through...............
