More importantly ...
they have found that there are all the variations that we have wondered about fitted by ducati over the years ...
spring only on one side + damping only on the other
springs both sides + damping only on one side
or rebound one side + compression the other

So this is yet another chapter in the book of 'how crap is the 600 spec'

Oh - and the other thing that they have found is that the std fork seals are really tight and give bad stiction - making their cartridges seem as if they arnt working properly on a road bike. (not so bad on a race bike cos its worked harder)
They cant fit alternative seals cos they are a ******* (correct use of technical term !) size, so they tried 'easing' them a bit and that worked until they leaked after about 500 miles ! (qed)

I'm surprised they didn't mention a well-known little trick to ease stiction. You take some fine-grade wet & dry to the stanchion and gently crosshatch using a rotating up/down movement. This promotes a very very impeceptible oil loss which, keep the legs and seal lubricated. I did this to great effect on my SV650 racer.
