yeah i gave it a real good wash just after i got it home from the last ride - I'll check this tommorrow as the dealer is 120 miles away and its a little bit of hassle getting it to him.

Sorry mate I know how you feel, It happened to me as well last year.
gave the bike a wash last week ready for out today one problem was it was reluctant to start got it going it went for 6 miles then threw its hand in. Could not start it. Called the ducati assist number in India and hung up. managed to get it to start and got home on 1.1 cylinders. Left it for 3 hours and it was perfect ovbiously dried out nicely but cocked up my day

Andy, I know the error code for dropping the bike by now!

Switch on the ignition and the display reads 666 (or 6hL for a 749).

Ha ha problem sorted. After a discussion with the every helpful Martin at Ducati Glasgow (excellent bunch of chaps) I did a bit of DIY to see if I could sort it.
Took the electrical panel to bits (behind the battery) and checked every connection. The small black box next to the starter relay had corroded connections. cleaned them up, applied a bit of silcone grease to keep it sweet and reassembled.
Turned the ignition on and the EOBD was still on until I pressed the starter button and hey presto she fired up and the light went out.
happy days.

I thought I was being clever and went and wrapped the new one in a plastic sandwich bag to try and prevent further probs. Unfortunately when I mentioned this to the mechanic at work he said you shouldn't do that cos it'll sweat inside the bag and make things worse. I've not got round to taking it back out of it yet. Typical.

Same here!!

Had her all naked today polishing her shiney bits, took me all day!

Finished it, put the fairing back on an thought, i'll just fire her up to annoy the neighbours!

Turned the key, dials spin, but......no priming of the fuel pump!!!!

Try to start and nothing, the engine turns over but will not fire. Try again and same thing.
Woods in Abergele told me probably fuel pump relay, so, guess i'm stripping the battery housing down tomorrow!!

Will let you know if it works!
