Less revs = less initial wear, you have the lumpiest cams on a Duc and these wear the rockers more.
The 748r is a lot harder to warm up than a bip as the lightened flywheel struggles to keep the engine turning over.
I've had a 2002 r for the last 2 years and have worked out some of its idiosyncrasies.
