found that both front callipers are binding, even after a very good cleaning.
if I don’t replace them they are going to warp the disc like the last pair i have just replaced. ( they havent gotten better after a 5 mile run of smooth braking down from 40 and 70)
two things
1 does anyone have 2x of the old style 996 (2 pads per calliper as opposed to the 4 pads per calliper) knocking around for sale. Would buy off ebay, but have a bad feeling from buying such a thing from an untrusted source.
or/and
2 does anyone know someone who does recon callipers (Haynes manual says no to stripping the calliper yourself.)
Please can someone help?. As of yet to find out how much they are new, but i think they are around £183 + vat each
looked on ebay for an example of the 45 and 60 Mine appears to be the 60 as it has two pins to hold the pads in rather than 1 pin that is on the 40mm examples below
may soon have some unused, still boxed brake pads if no one can help LOL booohoo money money money..s0d who last ownded the bike and didnt look after it properly..
Thanks for all the excellent responses from my posts in 996 and market place catagory. As all can appreciate i am trying to get the best condition calipers i can (to avoid the warping and binding) I am not looking to create a bidding war just get the best condition for the bike and me.
I am not looking for anything else but the calipers and so do not need the pads or lines.
Many thanks again for all your help, you really have helped me out!
