Does it really make any difference to your lives at all how much it costs ?

It's not a choice thing is it ? it's not a 'well i won't use the car this month' type scenario unless you live really close to work.

Petrol prices are simply irrelevent... you HAVE to pay whatever it is.

Little or no point even worrying about it really.

fuel is still roughly the same as the minimum hourly rate for workers as it was 20 years or more ago.

Sadly it does, I first used it on my bmw 1100rt, it seemed to smooth out low rev vibrations and made it smoother to ride and more willing to accelerate, it also increased the range of the tank by 10 miles or so, this paid for half of the cost the other half being worth it for the performance gain (the words performance and 1100rt don't normally go hand in hand).
So since then I always try to use it.
Stuck it in the wife's Yaris but sadly it did not go like a rocket, so did it only once.

Optimax (and the other "Premium" type fuels) greatly reduced the carb icing my SuperLight used to suffer from. Keeping it in boxes in my garage stops the problem completely....
