I also used Simon London's method and it worked pretty well for me.

Interesting thread, hopefully I will be looking once again for insurance soon.

Used Carole Nash for years as breakdown recovery was always included, do most insurers have this now or is it worth getting something seperate, and if so which?

Cheers - Frank

Right - have now taken out insurance - thanks for the help.

My findings;
I contacted virtually all of those listed above (it was too late for some) - so many thanks for the responses.

Most companies were circa 400 quid - Grp 17, 3 years no claims, 41 years old, 3 points - the cheapest initially were Access and CIA which were 350 quid. The most expensive were Bennetts were 450, Carole Nash 483.

Access were favourites - I then did the ringing back - I wanted to get an alarm fitted and Carole NAsh offered a Datatool IV system for 300 quid that included free fitting of ground anchor and heavy duty chain, free datataging of the bike. This reduced their offering from 483 quid to 383 - still no good for the policy, but the alarm was a good deal. I said that I had been quoted 342 by Access and then they dropped it to 326!!!!

So - Carole Nash it is, its definitely worth phoning around and then calling back again to compare.

Thanks for the info
Tim
