What do you class a novice? and when are you too fast? Griff has done 6 trackdays and 2 race meetings - I'd say that he's a novice. Is it his fault that he's a good rider? If a bloke on a 50bhp bike that's probably going around Snett in high 1m 20s (i.e. nearer to 1m 30) is seen to be too fast or too dangerous - then you're all very very sad people. From my experience, the fast group is full of 1000cc bikes with guys who are blindingly fast in a straight line and then park up mid corner - that to me is more dangerous than someone like Griff or any DD rider for that matter. What was dodgy last year, was when Mr Devils Advocate brought his GSXR750 to Snett, and blatted down the straights very impressively, and then 5-point turned it through the corners. It annoys me that just because someone has done 2 race meetings that they are now a 'racer' and should be in the fast group - what a load of crap. Best thing to do is learn to ride in the slow group before adventuring out in to inters with the super fast 100mph top speed 583's - they're wild!!!! |
