Those look a similar shape to mine, and i fitted the sprocket cover back with it.

For me the bit to remember when fitting it is to ensure it misses the chain. The non uniform shape of the crankcase where it fits, tends to throw it at a funny angle.

A funny angle? You mean when viewed with the bike right-side up?

Right latest news on these
so far I still haven't got around to trying the sprocket cover on either my 996 or my 998 with the case protector fitte.
The protector was fairly easy to fit to my 996 where as it took a fair bit longer to fit to my 998 Testastretta engine as I had to grind a bit off the back, this will be allowed for in the mk 2 model which I will arrange to get done once I have sold this initilal batch .

As it is I have 10 in total for sale of the mk 1 type which are best suited to earlier engines 748/916/996 and probably 900ss and 888
They have not yet been tried with a sprocket cover
cost is £10 each plus P&P and can be paid by Paypal, cheque or cash

So far the following have expressed a interest and would like to know who on the list is happy to have a mk 1 as it is

Rick, I will try and get around to seeing if I can fit a sprocket cover to my 996 with the protector in place later this week as I know you would prefer it if it did fit.

Just been out and fitted the sprocket cover to the 996. before trying to fit the cover I cut off the plastic tag that protrudes out of the sprocket side of the cover to make sure it didn't foul on the protectot. Took a couple of seconds with the hacksaw.

So now I have both the protector and sprocket cover fitted
