Is a new chip required to run Termi slip ons?

Hi guys; great froum you got here. I just picked up a stock 1996 916 with 3200 miles and am going through the bike to sort out any issues (clutch slave anyone?)and also adding a few extras (hugger). This is my first 4V; I have an old bevel 900SS though.

I picked up a pair of new 45mm Termi slip ons and was wondering if I had to rechip the bike to run them. Right now I don't need the extra power - believe me it's quick enough already - but don't want to fit the Termis without a chip if it will harm the bike.
Cheers
Geoff
