Often magnesium wheels aren't fitted to factory built race rep's for the road (like the 999R / 749R) - as they're not as resiliant as forged aluminium wheels when they hit big road debris. I've wondered how Ducati are getting away with fitting Magnesium wheels to the new Desmo Moto-GP rep bike. Also check rim diameter, or you'll end up having to buy race tyres and run them on the road ... unless it's for a racae bike that is
